Be sure to evaluate the source of your information. Remember, you can't believe everything you read! Once you evaluate
and the information proves to be correct, make sure to keep a record of all your sources. You may need them to prove your
information later on.
Remember, most everyone has two family names: your father's, but also your mother's. Don't feel
you must restrict your research to just your paternal family tree. You can research both at the same time because when you
run in to a dead-end in one area, you can pick up the trail somewhere else for awhile. Searching many lines at once will also
help to keep you from getting discouraged.
